Marina Mall is located on Al Marina Island which is one of the most prominent districts of retail space featuring a unique selection of fashion, leisure, and entertainment brands. The 20-year-old development was proposed with major refurbishment works in 2020-2021 and included for the following:
● New Front Façade for the building along with enhanced VIP experience with prominent changes to the drop-off areas.
● New retail shop front design to maintain uniformity within the mall.
● Widening of the existing circulation spaces to provide the customers with an ‘open’ ambiance.
● Additional skylights along with modifications to existing ones.
● Architectural changes to include new toilets and other support spaces.
● Introduction of vertical connectivity between different floors.
DSI’s senior members were the lead design consultants and were responsible for Design Management between different stakeholders along with MEP Engineering design delivery for the project. At Marina Mall Abu Dhabi, DSI was responsible for providing Lead Design Management services as well as MEP design services for an area of 255,000 square meters. This involved overseeing the entire design process to ensure that the project met the client’s requirements and was completed within the specified timeframe.
