Associate – HVAC

About the Role

Design Solutions Inc. (DSI) is seeking an experienced Associate – HVAC to lead and oversee HVAC design activities across complex MEP engineering projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, project leadership, and experience in delivering high-quality HVAC solutions for multidisciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC design and engineering activities from concept through detailed design and project delivery.
• Develop and review HVAC system designs, layouts, schematics, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Lead the design of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, ventilation, air distribution, and equipment selection.
• Review and approve HVAC calculations, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and design deliverables.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and client requirements.
• Coordinate HVAC designs with PHE, Electrical, Structural, Architectural, and BIM teams.
• Lead multidisciplinary design coordination and resolve technical and interface issues.
• Conduct design reviews, identify potential clashes, and support effective BIM coordination.
• Manage technical communication with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical direction, mentoring, and guidance to engineers and designers.
• Monitor project deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely completion.
• Support project planning, resource allocation, and technical decision-making.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of HVAC design standards, processes, and workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in HVAC design and engineering.
• Strong experience in MEP consultancy and multidisciplinary building projects.
• Excellent knowledge of HVAC system design, calculations, equipment selection, and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of relevant international codes, standards, and design practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with Revit MEP/BIM workflows.
• Experience in design coordination and clash resolution.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects and deliverables.

Preferred

• Experience working on large-scale and complex international projects.
• UAE/GCC project experience will be an added advantage.
• Experience with BIM coordination and multidisciplinary design management.
• Knowledge of HVAC design and analysis software will be an advantage.
